PCHS Class of 2020 donates marker for school entrance
The senior class of 2020 may have had its year cut short by a pandemic, but that’s not stopping those students from leaving their mark on Polk County High School.
Early Tuesday morning, a large rock from the class was delivered to PCHS and placed in the grassy triangle in front of the school.
One side of the rock will be painted with the school logo, with the other side reserved for future classes to paint and leave their own unique mark. A plaque is being purchased to commemorate the rock as donated by the class of 2020.
Plans will be announced at a later date for the current class to do the initial painting of the rock in accordance with state and local health guidelines.
“It’s truly remarkable that in the midst of all of this, our senior class is still finding ways to give back,” said PCHS Principal Dr. Brandon Schweitzer. “I want to say thank you to Edwards Landscaping for their generous donation and a special thank you to our student council for organizing this endeavor.”
